The whole intellectual universe is represented on an individual level by a microcosm centered around a local, personal gravity point. A wide variety of nodes linked to beliefs and ideas orbit this gravity point, attracting nearby thoughts, e.g. principles related to family or politics.
This is why it is so difficult to escape from the pull of predetermined values.
